Andria Emerick - Choreography Manager

Andria Emerick developed a passion for the stage early in life.

Although growing up in a small Illinois farm town cannot compare to the bright lights of a big city, she was able to start training in dance (mostly jazz) and performing locally at the age of 7. She was later able to explore the competitive side of dance through competing with her dance troupe in high school. She then started her undergrad studies at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. Andria majored in social work, but was also able to use her four years at the University taking theatre and dance classes, performing in black box and main stage plays, and dancing and choreographing in the biannual dance concerts. After graduating with her BASW in 2004, she moved to Chicago to pursue a career in both social work and performance.

She continued her training at The Actors Workshop Theatre and The Profiles Theatre and has been involved in productions with many theatre companies throughout the Chicago area, including Revolution Theatre Company, Theatre-on-the-Hill, The Factory Theatre, Chain Reaction Theatre, etc. She also appeared in a few shorts and full length films with Sole Productions, Stop Chicago Productions, and Hornbill Productions.

In September of 2007, Andria was cast in The Flaming Dames in Naughty and Nice.

Although the idea of burlesque was still new and a little scary to her, she was excited about dancing again and exploring a new style of performance. She quickly found herself immersed in the burlesque culture and falling in love with the empowerment and fulfillment that being a Flaming Dame brings to her. Over the past several years, she has been able to act, dance, choreograph, and even sing with this troupe, and has been involved in every show put on since her debut as Jingle Belle. Andria is now proud to hold the title of Choreography Manager.

Working with such a talented group of women has been and continues to be an amazing platform to create, perform, and learn. She feels lucky to have found such a family on and off the stage and is looking forward to a long and successful future with the Dames.
